Moloch (2022)

What if your home held a dark secret—one buried beneath centuries of fear and blood? Moloch (2022) is a chilling folk-horror tale that blends Dutch mythology, eerie folklore, and spine-tingling suspense into a nightmarish descent into terror. If you think you’ve seen it all, think again—this one seeps into your bones and lingers long after the credits roll.

Plot Summary
In a quiet, mist-covered village on the edge of a desolate peat bog, Betriek (Sallie Harmsen) lives with her daughter and elderly mother, carrying on with life despite an unsettling past. But when a group of archaeologists uncovers a mysterious corpse deep in the swamp, something awakens—something old, something hungry.

As bizarre, violent occurrences shake the town, Betriek becomes convinced that she and her family are being hunted by an ancient evil connected to her family’s dark past. But is it just superstition, or is something truly stalking her from the shadows? The deeper she digs, the more terrifying the truth becomes.
Why You Can’t Miss Moloch
Chilling Atmosphere & Haunting Imagery – This isn’t your typical jump-scare horror. Moloch builds unrelenting dread, pulling you into a world where every whisper of wind and shadow in the fog feels like a warning.

Deep, Unsettling Folklore – Drawing from real Dutch mythology, the film weaves a tale of sacrifice, curses, and a relentless force that never truly dies.
Slow-Burn Terror That Pays Off – The horror creeps up on you, layer by layer, until you’re completely trapped in its grip. And when the nightmare fully reveals itself—it’s unforgettable.
A Unique Horror Experience – If you enjoyed Hereditary (2018) or The Witch (2015), Moloch delivers that same creeping unease, where horror doesn’t just scare you—it unsettles your soul.
Is Moloch Worth Watching?
If you love folk horror, mythology-driven nightmares, and eerie mysteries that refuse to be forgotten, Moloch is a must-watch. It’s a film that doesn’t just scare you—it pulls you into its legend and makes you wonder:
